Netflix announced yesterday the rollout of a new rating button on the platform that allows you to adjust the basis of content recommendations through user preferences. This is a feature that meets the demand of the streaming service community. According to company information, the new button has the function of allowing users to report your favorite content to the platform and, consequently, get better advice for movies and series on the home page of the service. A change, this, which should personalize the suggestions in each profile.
The novelty was called "Two Thumbs Up"(Two thumbs up, in Italian) and completes the previous evaluation system by users, which involves marking content with"I did not like it". These titles, in fact, will no longer be suggested in the future. What is the difference I like it single? When we use the two thumbs, the user will inform the algorithms of the service that he liked the content and would like to see more similar options in the catalog, such as cinematographic works of the same director or genre.
