This is not a joke on our part and not even on OnePlus's part: Kebab is the real name of OnePlus 8T. As usual, every year the company launches a few but thoroughbred devices. 2020 is the year of 8 series which obviously is enriched by the T version, usually more powerful than the others. At the moment we do not know what are the characteristics of the device in question, the processor it will mount and what type of camera it will adopt. What is certain is that the code name is not a fake. In fact, retracing the history of previous smartphones, we draw a line that allows us to find a common thread between all the names of OP mobile devices.
Kebab is the code name of OnePlus 8T: in the article we briefly retrace the history of the names of the other devices
Excluding OnePlus North, which has a completely different name from any device of the Chinese company, almost all the others have a particular one. Despite the particularity however, there is one logic behind. Let's find out together:
- OnePlus 6: enchilada;
- OnePlus 6T: fajitas;
- OnePlus 7: guacamole;
- OnePlus 7T: hot dogs;
- OnePlus 8: instant noodles;
- OnePlus 8T: kebab.
Notice anything strange? All the T versions, series 6 to 8, have a name "carnivore" while the non-T versions they have a name "vegetarian".
Having made this clarification, there is nothing else of interest to add. Yes because actually we have no other official news by the brand or by leakers about the device specifications. The only evidence we have of its existence is a certification on Geekbench. Unfortunately, however, we know how this portal is easily deceived and how the codenames with the numbers that come out are easy to falsify. In any case, if the Geekbench data is confirmed, OP 8T should be called OnePlus KB2001.
The other benchmark portal specifications speak of a capability 8 GB RAM and an operating system Android 11. This means that its release could be later in time, considering that the release of the eleventh release of the green robot has not yet been announced.
