OnePlus Pay begins to take its steps outside of China

OnePlus Pay is a Chinese company proprietary digital payment service. This is the counterpart of Pay me, of Samsung Pay and many other similar services already present on the Chinese market (and not). However, that of Pete Lau's brand has been, since the release of OnePlus 7T, exclusive to China. Now, according to a report, the service is coming out of China. The mobile payment service based on NFC it should be launched in India soon. Let's go see the details.

OnePlus Pay is OnePlus' digital payment service: a certification reveals that it is setting its feet outside of China. Even with us?

The news comes from the Indian informant Mukul sharma on Twitter revealed that the Chinese company has filed the trademark for OnePlus Pay in India. In China, the service can be accessed via the company's wallet app. However, it is still exclusive to HydrogenOS, which is a China-specific user interface. In this regard, we remind you that OnePlus is also ditching its China-specific UI in favor of Oppo's ColorOS.

It remains to be seen how the company combines its services with the “other company's” user interface. We write it in quotes because we know that the two brands are part, together with realme, of the same BBK family.

With OnePlus Pay, users can make payments by opening the Wallet app and setting it as the default NFC-based payment app. Once users have entered the necessary bank details, the service will be activated and ready to work. Compared to alternatives in the Chinese market, OnePlus claimed that its service is faster than rivals which include WeChat and Alipay.

We do not know if this news will be exclusive to India (very likely) or it will come for us too. We are aware, however, that proprietary payment services are in short supply and most users now use the larger (and very well done) Google Pay.
