This event follows a series of turmoil within the company, culminating in an attempted coup in the board of directors. The situation led to the resignation of Greg Brockman, former president of OpenAI, in protest. However, with Altman's return, Brockman will also return to the company.

OpenAI has announced the introduction of a new board of directors, featuring influential figures such as Bret Taylor, Larry Summers and Adam D'Angelo. D'Angelo, already a member of the previous board that initially fired Altman, remains to ensure continuity. The new board will be tasked with reviewing and appointing a formal board, which may have up to 9 members, to restructure OpenAI's governance.

Among these members, there is likely to be a representative from Microsoft, who has invested more than $10 billion in the company, as well as Altman himself.
