Oppo dares with smartphones that fold several times

I foldable and flexible displays have certainly determined an evolution of design in the smartphone sector. OEMs are now experimenting with radical designs and patents Oppo recently released are proof of what different smartphones might look like in the future. It's all about finding a way to make these smartphones accessible and difficult to break. In terms of technology and technical advancement, the brand has no rivals: together with a few other giants it forms a small group of companies that are moving forward at a long pace. Today we go to see the latest idea of the colossus: it is a folding smartphone in several places, a real multi-fold booklet. Obviously this is a patent so it is difficult to see it in the immediate future.

Oppo is thinking of a smartphone that folds more points: a sort of digital and highly technological brochure

The first patent (pictured below) shows a telephone divided into six blocks with a zipper in the center and one above. It can close like a shell or partially close from above to keep a portion of the screen exposed. The cameras are located in the bottom block and always remain visible when looking at the screen. The SIM trolley, the charging port and the speakers are positioned under the last block that houses the cameras.

The second patent application shows another folding zigzag divided into six blocks. It uses a flexible display and two hinges to fold both in and out. Then, when fully folded, one part of the display is folded into the body and another part faces outward. The device can also be partially folded so that part of the device functions as a support. The camera module on this Oppo device is located on the outside of the first block.

The third patent application shows a tallest phone divided into eight blocks instead of six. It can be folded in half or partially from the top thanks to the two hinge mechanism.

It is important to note that while these smartphone models look pretty outside the box, are only patents and there is no guarantee that they will ever make it to production. I personally believe that such a device is unusable. What do you think about it?
