POCO C40 is updated: here are the news of the update

While some Xiaomi smartphones have reached the end of their update support cycle, the POCO C40 is getting the latest security patch for July 2023. Let's find out more details.

POCO C40: here is the update

Il POCO C40 stands out as one of the strangest devices launched by Xiaomi in recent years. Released in August 2022, it is still in its period of official updates guaranteed by the manufacturer, despite its software being based on Android 11.

The July 2023 security patches are being rolled out through the build V13.0.23.0.RGFMIXM (hence MIUI 13), which is still based on Android 11. The only detail mentioned in the update changelog is the inclusion of patches.

The update, being composed only of security patches, has a relatively low weight. Therefore, it can also be downloaded via an LTE connection without worrying about a significant impact on your monthly data plan, although using a WiFi connection is always recommended.

The OTA update has been being released for a few hours, which means that it will take a few days before it is notified to all affected devices. Xiaomi uses an approach to gradual release to prevent any undetected bug from compromising all the smartphones receiving the update.

Will the update fix all the problems that have arisen?

The expectation is that these patches will fix all of the issues identified by the various research teams, not just some. This concern emerged a few months ago when it was discovered that Xiaomi, along with other smartphone manufacturers, do not implement all the functions developed by Google with reference to the monthly security patches.

All that remains is to wait for the rollout to end and for the update to be integrated into smartphones around the world, to understand whether the functions in question are actually present or not.
