After weeks of leaks and official teasers, the new Redmi 10X series has finally been unveiled today. The smartphones of the Xiaomi sub-brand arrive with a really interesting hardware combined with a price that, in China, could make them become best sellers in the Asian country. Let's find out more!
Official Redmi 10X and Redmi 10X Pro: Medium range products with flagship performance!
As always we start from the design, which as we can see is very similar, at least on the back, to that of the Redmi Note 9S released in the global version last month. While in front we have a small notch at the top instead of the central hole, which reminds us of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite launched in the same period. So we are faced with a hybrid between a Redmi Note 9S and a Mi 10 Lite.
In fact, the display also seems borrowed from the latter, with a quality AMOLED panel from 6,57 inches of diagonal and Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080). The screen then has a maximum brightness of 800 nits, a dynamic contrast of 430000: 1 and an aspect ratio of 20: 9. There is no lack of support for HDR10 + videos, 98% NTSC color coverage, DC Dimming technology to decrease low-brightness flicker and an underlying fingerprint sensor. Finally, Redmi communicates that there is a touch refresh rate of 180Hz, an uninteresting feature as the refresh rate is always 60Hz.
Now let's move on to the internal hardware, which as anticipated a few days ago comes from the MediaTek chip maker. Inside the Redmi 10X we find the brand new MediaTek Dimensity 820 which makes its debut on the Redmi device. This is a medium-high end processor that is based on a 7nm production process that integrates one of the best 5G modems in the world, a top-of-the-range multi-core architecture and an independent AI processor (APU3.0) ad high energy efficiency.
More specifically, we discover that the Dimensity 820 is composed of 4 × Cortex A76 2.6GHz + 4 × Cortex A55 2.0GHz, while the GPU is a Mali-G57 MC5. There is support for 5G dual carrier aggregation, 5G + 5G dual card dual standby, SA and NSA dual mode 5G. In any case, thanks to this chip the 10X is able to get 415672 on the famous AnTuTu benchmark platform.
As for the photographic sector instead, smartphones adopt a 48MP main camera, in particular we find the Sony IMX686 sensor. We then have an 8MP camera with an ultra wide angle lens and a 5MP camera for taking macro photos. The Redmi 10X Pro is distinguished by the presence of an 8MP telephoto camera with a maximum zoom of 30X (real optical zoom of 3x). The latter camera also features OIS (optical stabilization) technology to decrease the vibrations which, as you know, are amplified by the high focal length. For selfies, we find instead a single 20MP camera on the Pro version and a 16MP on the basic version.
Both the Redmi 10X and 10X Pro are powered by a large 4520mAh battery, so on average with different Xiaomi and Redmi devices released in recent months. While the fast charging supported reaches a maximum power of 22,5W on Redmi 10X and 33W on Redmi 10X Pro. Among the different features we also find a 3,5mm audio jack, a linear motor to improve vibrations and MIUI 12 as a system operating. The 10X Pro also has an NFC module for electronic payments and much more.
Redmi's smartphones will be available in four colors: Purple, Deep Ocean Blue, Hazy Moon Gold and Star Dew White. While as regards prices, we have the Redmi 10X with a starting price of 1599 Yuan, or about 205 €, for the basic version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, 1799 Yuan for the one with 6GB / 128GB (230 € ). The Redmi 10X Pro instead costs 2299 Yuan (295 €) for 8GB / 128GB and 2599 Yuan (330 €) for 8GB / 256GB.
