Even today we cannot miss the daily rumor for one of the most anticipated devices ever, we are obviously talking about the upcoming Redmi flagship store.
In recent days, more and more rumors have leaked and official statements have made clear some of the specifics of this terminal. However, one of the most interesting features that perhaps many were hoping to find, may not actually be there.
Redmi's flagship may not have the sensor below the screen
As you can imagine from the title, the feature that we might not have on the future top of the Redmi range is the fingerprint sensor below the screen.
Why do we think this is so? Well, the vice president of Xiaomi Group and general manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing, has just shared a post on the Weibo social network that really questions its presence. In fact, Lu Weibing answered the question of a user who asked, "I hope Redmi's flagship does not use a sensor on the back?" Saying that "Sensors below the screen are quite expensive".
The price of the sensor is then added to that of the AMOLED screen, notoriously more expensive than the LCDs, since the sensors for fingerprint recognition do not work under the displays of the latter type.
So, to cut costs and bring to market the most economical top of the range ever, Redmi may decide not to use this technology.
That said, not every hope is lost, Redmi could always pull a rabbit out of his hat and surprise everyone by bringing this feature to the device.
As for the other features instead, those confirmed include the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor of the latest generation, an NFC module, a very thin “chin” (lower edge), a front camera with a pop-up mechanism that comes out automatically when wants to take a selfie and finally an audio jack from 3.5mm for headphones.
Instead among the specifications not yet confirmed but very likely we have a trio of rear cameras with 48MP resolution + 8MP + 13MP, with the main one using a Sony IMX486 sensor, a front camera from 32MP and a large battery for over 4000mAh.
What the company says will be the cheapest Snapdragon 855 device ever could be presented in the coming weeks. The name could be Redmi Pro 2 or who knows, maybe Redmi X?
What do you think about the possible lack of the fingerprint sensor below the screen? Would you be disappointed? Let us know in the comments section below!
Who cares about the fingerprint sensor ... which are notoriously slower than the sensors on the back ... but I hope that the screen is really amoled but
Instead it counts and how.
Well everyone has their needs ... see the Fnc ... there are those who don't even know what it is and who also pays us for the bread and milk ...
Exact. I don't do anything with the NFC
Honestly, I prefer it that way, as I said it reduces costs and in fact the sensors under the display have proved slower and less precise, after other problems arise for modding that becomes more difficult.
does nothing, maybe better, we are more interested in 299-399 evvaiiiii
What bullshit. It would be a serious shortcoming, you cannot present a mid-2019 flagship with fingerprints on the back. I wouldn't buy it anymore
For a low-cost flagship there is, the user experience does not change
