Redmi K50 with Dimensity 8100 coming in two weeks
A few days ago, after MediaTek announced the new Dimensity 8100 chip, Redmi officially announced that the K50 series will be the one that will take the 8100 processor globally. However, Redmi has not yet announced specific information on its release.
Well, according to well-known Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station, the official promotional campaign is expected to start next week, so the official launch date could be within two weeks.
From what we know from previous leaks, the Redmi K50 series will launch three models: the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K50 Pro +. The three smartphones will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, MediaTek Dimensity 8100 and MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chips respectively. All three chips are among the most popular in light of high performance and low power consumption.
In particular, the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 CPU is currently expected to be one of the most interesting. According to official data, the chip uses TSMC's 5nm manufacturing process. The chipset is eight cores, including four A78 cores and four A55 cores. The main frequency of the large core reaches 2,85 GHz and the GPU is six cores, the Mali-G610. This is the same GPU that we find on the higher-end processor, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000. This chipset should arrive with performance that is comparable to that of the Snapdragon 888.
Furthermore, according to what some MediaTek employees and some Chinese bloggers have tested, while the performance of the Dimensity 8100 is comparable to that of the Snapdragon 888, in reality the chipset has the power consumption of the Snapdragon 870, therefore very efficient.
