Redmi Note 13, 13 Pro and 13 Pro+ presented: curved screen, IP68 certification and the brand new Snapdragon 7s Gen 2

Redmi, the budget smartphone brand from Xiaomi, presented its new Note 13 series, consisting of three models: the Note 13, Note 13 Pro and the Note 13 Pro+. Let's see in detail the characteristics and differences between these smartphones.

Let's start with the more premium Note 13 Pro and Note 13 Pro+, which have a different design on the front. The Note 13 Pro has a flat screen with right-angled edges, while the Note 13 Pro+ has a curved screen with rounded edges. Both of them screens are of the pOLED type, with a diagonal of 6,67 inches a 1,5K resolution (2712*1220 pixels) a 120 Hz refresh rate and high brightness. The screens are certified by Rheinland for blue light and flicker reduction, and support high-frequency PWM dimming and high-brightness DC dimming.

The back of the two smartphones sees a rectangular camera module with three lenses arranged vertically, while the Note 13 Pro+ has three lenses arranged in a triangle. The Note 13 Pro+ also has a simple leather back shell in the color Light Dream Space, while the other available colors are Midnight Black e Mirror Porcelain White, both with a glass back shell. The Note 13 Pro comes in the same colors, but with a plastic back shell.

The most significant difference between the two smartphones is the processor. The Note 13 Pro+ features the Dimensity 7200-Ultra, a chip produced by MediaTek in collaboration with Redmi, which promises high performance and optimized energy consumption. It is an octa-core processor with a maximum frequency of 3 GHz, a Mali-G78 MC10 GPU and an integrated 5G modem.

Il Note 13 Pro, however, is equipped with Second generation Snapdragon 7s, a processor produced by Qualcomm and presented for the first time on this smartphone. It is an octa-core processor with a maximum frequency of 2,8 GHz, an Adreno 660 GPU and an integrated 5G modem.

Both processors support the LPDDR5 RAM memory and UFS 3.1 internal memory, with different capacity options: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 512GB.

The Note 13 Pro and the Note 13 Pro+ have the same photographic compartment, consisting of three rear cameras and a front camera. There main camera has a resolution of 200 megapixel, with a sensor Samsung ISOCELL HP3 Discovery Edition which supports pixel fusion to obtain 50 megapixel images with 2,24 micron pixels. The main camera also has one Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS), a seven-lens lens and an ultra-low reflection ALD coating.

La ultra-wide angle camera has a resolution of 8 megapixel and a viewing angle of 120 degrees. There macro camera has a resolution of 2 megapixel and allows you to take photos of objects as close as 4 cm. There front camera has a resolution of 16 megapixel and is located in a hole in the screen. Support portrait mode, beauty mode and night mode.

Il Note 13 Pro+ has a 5000 mAh battery which supports the quick charge from 120 W. According to the manufacturer, the battery can be fully recharged in 19 minutes, and reach 50% in just 7 minutes. The Note 13 Pro has a 5100mAh battery which supports the quick charge from 67 W. In this case, the battery can be fully recharged in 44 minutes, and reach 50% in 18 minutes.

The Note 13 Pro and Note 13 Pro+ have other features in common, such as the under-screen fingerprint sensor, face unlock, audio jack from 3,5 mm, the stereo speakers, theinfrared, NFC and Wi-Fi 6. The Note 13 Pro+ also has Bluetooth 5.3, while the Note 13 Pro has Bluetooth 5.2.

One difference between the two smartphones is dust and water resistance. The Note 13 Pro+ has the IP68 certification, which guarantees complete protection against dust and immersion in water up to 1,5 meters for 30 minutes.

The Note 13 Pro and Note 13 Pro+ were launched in China at a very competitive price, considering the technical specifications offered. The Note 13 Pro starts at 1399 yuan (around 180 euros) for the 8GB + 128GB version. The Note 13 Pro+ starts at 1899 yuan (around 245 euros) for the 12GB + 256GB version.

As regards the Redmi Note 13 basic, the smartphone is powered by the efficient processor MediaTek Dimensity 6080 with 5G connectivity, which powers one OLED screen, with a diagonal of 6,67 inches, a Full HD+ resolution one 120 Hz refresh rate.

For photos we find one main camera from 100MP and 2MP secondary for macros.

The Note 13 integrates one battery from 5000 mAh and supports the quick charge from 33W.

Il Redmi Note 13 will be sold in China at starting price of 1099 yuan (about 140 euros) for the 6GB + 128GB version.
