According to recent reports, Redmi is working on a new tablet, which is identified in the EEC certification database with the model number 23073RPBFG. While the listing doesn't reveal the name or specifications of the tablet, it is believed to be the successor to the first model. The informant Kacper Skrzypek recently shared details about the Redmi Pad 2. According to his information, the upcoming Redmi Pad 2 will be powered by the chipset Snapdragon 680, marking a departure from the Helio G99 SOC featured in its predecessor.

The use of Snapdragon 680 chipset in Redmi Pad 2 suggests a possible performance degradation compared to its predecessor which used the Helio G99 SOC. In terms of performance, the Helio G99 offers around 16% higher GPU performance and tends to outperform the Snapdragon 680 by around 35% in AnTuTu benchmarks. The price positioning of the Pad 2 will be a determining factor when evaluating whether upgrading from the previous model is warranted, given the possible performance compromise.
As for the display, the tablet should feature a 10,95 inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1200 × 1920 pixels. The display should support a refresh rate of 90Hz, offering an improved viewing experience. The tablet in question should be equipped with a main camera from 8 megapixel and a front camera from 5 megapixel for selfies and video calls. The tablet is expected to launch with Android 13 and Xiaomi's MIUI 14 user interface, offering an intuitive and feature-rich software experience.
