In the future, smartphones will be able to do molecular analyzes

What would we do without smartphone? Virtually nothing. Let's think about it: whatever we have to do during the day, if not eat, it's all thanks to the smartphone. Even when we go to the bathroom we take it with us to keep us company! Seriously, it has become by now an object that is part of us. How will it be in the future though? Human-machine integration is destined to evolve and also in health field smartphone technology will meet us. Thanks to collaboration between Qualcomm and Trinamix in particular, in the future we may carry out analyzes using our device.

Technology has no limits and smartphones will become an even more complete accessory than now, also allowing for analysis

Trinamix, an industry leader, revealed it is building a small infrared sensing module for processor-powered smartphones Qualcomm. This will be used for the "near-range infrared spectroscopy". The company says it will use theintelligence of Qualcomm's AI engine to process the acquired molecular data. via the sensor. But what good is it without a real case study? Well, truth be told the German company has a use case in mind.

Future smartphones incorporating the technology in question will allow consumers to scan their skin at the molecular level and receive near-instant suggestions on optimal skin care products

Other use cases may include, for example, the recognition of the truthfulness of a product (for example if it is a counterfeit or poor quality material) rather than the control of sugars in food. Clearly the so-called "use cases" we just talked about will be added through update. It will therefore not be necessary to physically upgrade the hardware.

Initially, from what we understand, the project was born for the industry, but with the aim of miniaturize the sensor came to the idea of integrate it into a smartphone. Trinamix's communications manager Steven Meyers stated that although the prototype is not finished, it is expected to occupy poco space on a smartphone:

Once the project is complete, we will be able to provide more information on the exact size. We expect it to be no bigger than a current CMOS camera

When will we see a spectroscope device like Changhong H2?

For the less accustomed, we remind you that in 2017 a Chinese company managed to insert a spectroscope on a mobile device. This device is called Changhong H2 and that's what we see in the photo above. But when is the first smartphone in collaboration between Qualcomm and Trinamix? Reportedly, during the fourth quarter of the 2021, therefore at the end of next year.

But there is a doubt that grips us: how much will it cost such a device? And especially, will it be mass produced? There are still many questions and it is too early to give an answer. Time will tell us something more.
