Xiaomi smartphones equipped with Android Oreo will receive LDAC support

Xiaomi still gives us good news on this day. Indeed the smartphone of the technological giant equipped with the Android operating system Oreo 8.x will receive support for LDAC technology. Currently it seems that this new feature will only be available with the update to the public beta developer version, but the company reassures that even future stable versions of its interface will receive support for LDAC technology, always considering that Android Oreo must be present as a software base. LDAC is an audio coding technology developed by Sony that allows the transmission of high-resolution audio content wirelessly, such as Bluetooth.

LDAC

With three times the amount of data transmitted than normal wireless technology, LDAC maintains the maximum bit rate and offers a frequency range of 96 kHz / 24 bits during transmission, as well as a high level of compression and playback. LDAC is unlike any other Bluetooth® compatible coding technology on the market, allowing you to listen to high-resolution audio content in exceptional audio quality, transmitting with a maximum transfer rate of 990 kbps. This is approximately three times the amount of data available with Bluetooth® compatible audio technology, such as Low Complexity Subband Coding (SBC), which offers a transfer rate of 328 kbps. The technology supports different transmission frequencies, depending on the wireless environment, providing the optimized listening experience that music enthusiasts seek and that artists want to produce. With this new technology, Xiaomi smaetphones that will be suitable, will significantly improve the audio performance when connected to a Bluetooth source, such as headphones, speaker assuming that the device connected to the smartphone also supports the same technology. And if we did not know if the device to which we are connecting the Xiaomi device is enabled to LDAC or not, will be the icon on the display on the smartphone to inform us of the active LDAC mode. Perhaps a technology that few know but that will surely make the happiness of sound enthusiasts.
