WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version 2.23.17.14. But what is the big news of this update? WhatsApp is introducing a feature to create and share stickers using artificial intelligence, and this is only available to a small group of beta testers. Let's see what's new together.

How do AI stickers work in WhatsApp?

WhatsApp continues to improve its application to introduce new the features and improve the user experience. After releasing a feature that allows users to add multiple accounts on the same device, now WhatsApp focuses on the messaging experience. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android 2.23.17.14, we found that a small group of beta testers can now create and share AI-generated stickers (via BetaInfo).

As you can see in a screenshot, a new button may appear "Crea” when the keyboard opens in the stickers section. By selecting this option, the user will be prompted to enter a description to generate a sticker. WhatsApp will present a set of AI-generated stickers based on the description provided, and the user can choose which sticker to share in the conversation.

Stickers are generated using a safe technology offered by Meta. Users will always have control over AI-generated stickers: if we think a sticker is inappropriate or harmful, we can report it to Meta. Also, it's important to note that this feature is optional and those AI-generated stickers are easily recognizable. This means that the recipient can tell when a sticker has been generated by Meta's AI technology.

Who can use AI-generated stickers

The feature to create and share stickers via AI is available to a small group of beta testers who install the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android and it will roll out to even more people in the coming weeks. So watch out for updates on the Play Store!
