The new former Twitter owner, Elon Musk, has plans to turn his app into what he calls “the app for everything”. In fact, according to what he himself announced, X will support audio and video calls but with an improvement: you won't need the phone number.

Video and audio calls on X: the message from Elon Musk who hopes to revive the fortunes of the social network

Since Musk made certain moves, the social network has collapsed. From dismissals to jokes up to dissing, in short, nothing was missing. However, it seems that his commitment to bring back the platform is even greater than that of the previous owner of Twitter. According to what he himself announced, calls on X will work on Android, iOS and Mac, without the need for a phone number. In short, it will be a definitive messaging and calling app. He then added that this system will revolutionize the way we communicate in a truly unique way.

The mogul had first talked about the possibility of calling and video calling on X in May of this year. “Voice chat and video chat will be available on the platform soon” he tweeted. As anticipated, the long-term plans are those of turn X into an all-encompassing app with which to call, play, even find work and even pay.

The feature would appear to be already in the testing phase. In fact, the designer of Andrea Conway he had already mentioned on August 10 that he had called someone on social X. Even the CEO Linda yaccarino had confirmed that video calling would be an upcoming new feature. At the moment X only supports voice messages and the ability to call (albeit not privately) there is only on Spaces, another social network not widespread in Italy.
