As Apple prepares to unveil its new iPhone 15 series on September 12, Google does not stand by and announces the date of its next big hardware event: the 4 October. On that date, the tech giant will introduce its new smartphones to the world Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, which promise to be the most powerful and innovative ever made by Google.
Google officially announces the presentation date of Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro
The Google event will take place in New York City, unlike Apple's, which will take place as usual on the campus in Cupertino, California. Both events will kick off at 10am local time and be streamed online for the public to enjoy.
Google revealed the date of its event with a teaser on its website, which reads: “We introduce the latest additions to the Pixel family on October 4th”. This suggests that there may also be other devices in addition to the two smartphones, such as the Pixel Watch 2, Google's smart watch that should compete with the Apple Watch.
But the real star of the event will surely be the Pixel 8 Pro, the Google flagship that is said to have features that rival any other smartphone on the market. The Pixel 8 Pro was in fact the subject of a sensational leak a few hours before the official announcement: Google accidentally published a photo of the device on its online store, showing off its elegant design and its triple rear camera.
According to rumors, the Pixel 8 Pro will have one 6,7-inch 120Hz QHD+ LTPO OLED screen, Tensor G3 . chipset developed by Google, together 12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage
For photos, the device will adopt a triple rear camera system, with 50MP main camera with OIS, 64 MP ultrawide e 48 MP telephoto lens, while for selfies there will be one front camera from 11 MP.
The Pixel 8 Pro will come with one on board battery from 4950 mAh with support for the 27W wired charging. The Pixel 8 Pro will also be equipped with Android 14, the latest version of Google's mobile operating system.
The Pixel 8 will instead be a cheaper and more compact version of the Pixel 8 Pro, with some differences in the technical specifications. The Pixel 8 will have the same chipset and Android version as the Pixel 8 Pro, the same selfie camera, the same storage options and fingerprint sensor, but one 6,17 inch 1080x2400 120Hz screen, Double 50MP rear camera and 12MP ultrawidea battery from 4485 mAh with support for the 24W wired charging e 12W wireless.
