That Xiaomi is an all-round company able to make a fortune in any market place your hands is now a fact. He started as a developer of Android ROM and has achieved huge success with MIUI, has become part of the smartphone manufacturers and success was not slow to arrive, he also developed some wearable that have placed it on the podium of the world's producers. However, we would never have expected the Chinese giant to become part of the world of finance as well.
In fact, Xiaomi has recently created a new bank (probably called Sichuan Hope Bank, although the name does not seem to be definitive yet), in collaboration with two other main investment groups (Hongqi & New Hope Group Co Ltd) and 5 investment groups minors. The bank's headquarters was obviously set in China and, more precisely, in Sichuan. The various authorizations from the government were released last Monday, so in theory this new bank could already operate.
According to the first information leaked online about the investments made, the three majority shareholders have participated in the company capital for about 3 billion yuan which, at current exchange rates, is equivalent to about 405 million euros. As for Xiaomi, its investment capital would have been 885 million yuan.
Of course this news does not center on anything with the Xiaomi divisions that affect us. However, in the future, Xiaomi could be facilitated in developing its own smartphone and via wearable payment system.
