After anticipating it a few months ago, Xiaomi has finally released an update for the Xiaomi Mi Air 2 Pro that brings the LHDC codec and low latency mode.

The firmware update would have already been loaded on Xiaomi's servers and is slowly reaching all Xiaomi Mi Air 2 Pro on the market. The new firmware arrives with version 3.1.0.8 and as mentioned before it brings the LHDC audio codec, or Low-Latency & High Definition Codec.
This codec developed by Savitech and developed on the AD2P Bluetooth protocol, allows high resolution audio streaming. Specifically, it supports a bit rate of up to 900 kbps, therefore considerably higher than the 345 kbps of the SBC (Subband Codec).
The most important differences brought by this update mainly concern those who play on their device. In fact, we should see a substantial drop in latency, hence a smoother and at the same time higher quality gaming experience.
Recall that Xiaomi's Mi Air 2 Pro headphones are packed with premium-level features. For example, they have three built-in microphones for effective noise reduction and providing noise absorption of up to 35dB, capable of handling even high frequency noise from 1000 to 3000Hz. The headphones also include an in-channel microphone. for accurate transmission of clear sound, so that you can communicate freely even when talking in a noisy place.
The Mi Air 2 Pro headphones then have a special mode that will provide excellent audibility of ambient sounds, without the need to remove the headphones. Moreover, thanks to the ergonomic design, the pressure on the ears is reduced, this allows us to communicate comfortably with the interlocutor face to face.
As for autonomy, in music mode, the Mi Air 2 Pro headphones can work for 7 hours, and when using a charging case, the battery life increases to 28 hours. This was made possible by new advanced low power consumption chips.
Finally, the Xiaomi Mi Air 2 Pro support a fast wired charging of 10 minutes, for up to 90 minutes of autonomy. There is also the integrated Qi wireless charging function.
