After the doubts that have emerged in the last hours, in which it seems that Xiaomi during the MWC 2018 event has no intention to present novelties, and therefore less the expected Mi 7, others rumors revive the thesis about the presentation of a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. Actually, the update of the 2 Mi Mix could arrive even before the Spanish technology event.
The source of the voice appears to be a serial leaked of Weibo who confirmed that Xiaomi is planning to launch the 2S Mi Mix before the MWC 2018. He did not reveal more details but asked readers to guess which of the upcoming two models, Mi Mix 2S or Mi 7, will be the first Xiaomi smartphone to be powered by the Snapdragon 845 CPU. There is no doubt that it will be the Mi 7 to earn the title because the company is unlikely to use the new Qualcomm processor because the same is also expected on the future Mi Mix 3 by the end of the year.
In any case quanto emerged online are only mere suppositions, because Xiaomi has never given any official confirmation of the existence of an 2S Mi Mix. The previous rendering of the device that wanted an iPhone X-style design, ie with a bezel on the front, was clearly denied within a few days as a result of a "good" photo editing using Photoshop. A second image, apparently more real, shows the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S with a display that almost covers the 100% of the surface available and frames even smaller than the Mi Mix 2 version.
To achieve this the front camera has been positioned in the upper right corner placed inside a small "notch" which, however, does not seem to contain any sensors while the earpiece capsule has been inserted in a meticulous manner in the thin upper frame. The rest of the 2S Mi Mix design does not seem to differ much from the 2 Mi Mix maintaining impression sensor and single camera on the back probably made of ceramic with gold decorations like the circular ring that hugs the fingerprint sensor. The rumors could not help us too the price that seems to be of 4000 yuan, about 509 euro at the current exchange rate.
