Xiaomi recently presented a new accessory produced in collaboration with the Zhimi company. This is the evolution of the We USB Fan launched last summer. For those who do not know, it is a small fan to be connected to a USB part of the computer designed to give a little coolness on the hottest days. Well, the evolution of this accessory is called Xiaomi Mi Smart Fan and, instead of a USB port, the power supply takes place via a 33,6 WH battery.
As you can imagine from the size of the battery, Xiaomi Mi Smart Fan is certainly not a desk accessory. In essence, it is a sort of 2.0 fan equipped with a battery so as to function independently even when disconnected from the mains. According to the estimates made by Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Mi Smart Fan manages to guarantee an operation of about 16 hours before having to be recharged.
In order to stand out from all the common fans found in the stores, Xiaomi and Zhimi have studied a great way to reduce the aerodynamic strength of propeller blades as much as possible. In addition, thanks to a new generation of electric motors, energy consumption is reduced by 90% compared to competitors.
Then being a Xiaomi product, and having the word "Smart" in the name, integration with smartphones could not be missing. In fact, through the dedicated app (also available for iOS) or through Mi Smart Home Suite, it is possible to adjust not only the inclination of the blades but also the oscillation, power and various pre-sets.
As for the sale price, Xiaomi and Zhimi have decided to market this accessory at a price of 799 yuan, which at the exchange rate is equivalent to about 109 Euro. If we consider the average price of a normal fan, this Xioami Mi Smart Fan has a very exaggerated price but considering all the smart features and capabilities to integrate into Xiaomi Smart Home, then it seems to us an acceptable price.
