We had it announced yesterday and is finally official: Xiaomi has officially entered the VR area. The device it is calling is called Xiaomi Mi VR and, just as it has always done with the other products, will propose it at a very advantageous price.
The Xiaomi Mi VR will in fact be available, initially only for some lucky ones (beta tester), at just a cost 13 cents of euros (at the exchange rate) while after the mass at a cost of about 7 € (always at the exchange).
The composition of this viewer, unlike all the others struggling cardboard (Google Cardboard) or plastic (Samsung Gear VR), adopts from a mix of Lycra (nylon and spandex) and EVA (Eylene Vinyl Acetate). At the moment, not having it in our hands, we cannot evaluate its resistance against the competition.
Smartphones compatible with Xiaomi Mi VR must have a screen diagonal between 4,7 inches and 5,7 inches (no Xiaomi Mi Max therefore) and do not necessarily have to have the Xiaomi brand (it is even compatible with iPhones) . The most obvious peculiarity of this viewer, however, is the presence of a zip designed to close the smartphone housing. The general dimensions of Xiaomi Mi VR are 201 x 107 x 91 mm while the weight is 208,7 grams.
On the opposite side of the viewer there are two anti-reflective aspherical lenses which guarantee, according to Xiaomi, an excellent image rendering, without any distortion.
Large space is also reserved for customization, with the front that can accommodate the most disparate motifs. More information is available on Xiaomi official site but, of course, it is totally Chinese.
