Xiaomi started 2016 with a surprise that many appreciated, namely the official launch of a new mid-range smartphone. We are of course talking about the "small" redmi 3 | Xiaomi Redmi 3 is finally official | that thanks to its highly respectable technical specifications, sold at a price comparable to a low-range, has managed to conquer a large number of people, especially if we consider that a device with the same hardware characteristics (and without forgetting the body entirely in metal and a refined design) but from other brands, is offered at a much higher price. But would it be possible to improve a device that in itself is already excellent as well? Of course you can and Xiaomi will demonstrate it very soon!
Today, in fact, a new smartphone has received certification from the Tena and that device is precisely the Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro / Prime. Essentially you do not seem to change anything compared to its previous version as we find the same technical specifications, namely:
- Display from 5 "IPS HD inches (1280 x 720 pixel);
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core 64-bit CPU (all Cortex A53 but 4 have a frequency of 1,2 GHz while the remaining 4 are set at 1,5 GHz);
- 2 GB of RAM LPDDR3;
- 16 GB of internal memory with the possibility of expansion up to 128 GB;
- 13 MP rear camera with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus);
- Front camera from 5 MP;
- Battery from 3000 / 4000 mAh (there is some uncertainty about the actual amperage of the battery);
- Dual-SIM or SIM + micro-SD;
- MIUI v7 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop;
- Dimensions of 139,3 x 69,6 x 8,5 mm;
- Weight of 144 grams.

Yes, this new version will be different from the previous one due to the presence of a sensor for fingerprint recognition, otherwise it will not undergo any change (always considering the question of the actual battery quantity). Even the colors do not vary, which will always be: Gray, Silver and Gold. A specific date has not yet been declared for the presentation of this new variant but it is rumored that it will be presented by the end of next week.
