As well as every month, the statistical research company UMindex publishes the results about the smartphones that are used most in the Chinese territory. Well, as regards the month of May, we find a ranking almost entirely dominated by Xiaomi smartphones. In fact, as you can see from the opening image, 7 positions out of 10 are occupied by Xiaomi smartphones.
But the interesting thing is that once again Xiaomi Redmi 1S has won the first position. Despite its longevity in the market, it still remains the smartphone preferred by Chinese users.
The full list of 10 smartphones most used in China during May only wins Xiaomi and Samsung, with variations over the past month only in ninth and tenth positions:
- Xiaomi Redmi 1S
- Xiaomi Mi 3
- Xiaomi Mi 4
- Samsung Galaxy Note 2
- Xiaomi Redmi Notes
- Xiaomi Mi 2S
- Samsung Galaxy Note 3
- Samsung Galaxy S4
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 1S (+ 1)
- Xiaomi Redmi 2A (-1)
Also significant is the fact that the most popular Android version in May in China is the 4.4 KitKat, with Marshmallow still a lot poco widespread.
Oddly, Huawei doesn't have any of its smartphones in the ranking. Yet the Chinese giant represents Xiaomi's biggest competitor in Chinese territory.
Moreover, it seems more difficult for Xiaomi to expand to Western markets: considering that China is the absolute dominant, the first concern for the company should be competition in new markets in order to earn more and more customers compared to today.
