The Redmi 9 series will be officially presented on June 15, or in two days. The more entry-level line of Redmi usually includes another cheaper device that is recognized by the letter "A" after the model name. So, this year, in addition to the Redmi 9, the Redmi 9A will also arrive.
Redmi 9A certified on FCC: Confirmed battery, recharge and operating system
Well, today a new device with model name M2006C3LG has been caught on the database of FCC (Federal Communications Commission). If the speculation turns out to be correct, we should be dealing with the Redmi 9A mentioned above.
Unfortunately, however, the listing on the American certification site is quite vague and does not reveal any specifications other than the battery capacity, we are talking about 4900 mAh and the charging technology on board, i.e. maximum power of 10W. We also discover some information on the operating system, the Redmi 9 will arrive with the latest MIUI 12 already at launch. Finally, in some attached sketches we can see a hint of the rear that presents the Redmi brand in the lower left, as well as the position where the two internal antennas will be located.
The predecessor of the Redmi 9A is (obviously) the Redmi 8A presented in September last year. The device brought excellent value for money, but saw substantial cuts compared to its older brother. Specifically, we only had a rear camera and therefore no secondary 2MP sensor to take photos with the much-requested bokeh effect. In addition, the Redmi 8A was available with only 2GB of RAM, an understandable choice given the price range.
As for the Redmi 9A instead, we expect to find a second sensor on the back, while from the point of view of RAM we should see an increase to 3GB.
