After submitting the Redmi band last May, the Xiaomi sub-brand now seems also intent on launching a new smartwatch, or at least these are the rumors circulating online.
Leak: Redmi's first smartwatch is around the corner
According to the famous Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station in fact, the Redmi smartwatch is about to debut. News that cheers us up but it doesn't surprise us as we talk about a possible smartwatch branded Redmi for several months now. In fact, in January a "Smart Watch" produced by Redmi with model number "HMSH01GE" was appeared on the Indian BIS certification site, but we haven't talked about it since.
In any case, even if we do not know any of the possible specifications, one thing is certain, the smartwatch will be cheaper than the one produced by the Xiaomi parent company. Which would already make it a best buy for those with few special needs and want a quality device that costs poco.
A bit like what happened with the Redmi Band presented in China and which is known in some markets such as Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4C. Recall that the cheapest smart band comes with a 1,08-inch diagonal TFT capacitive display and a brightness of 200 nits.
The fitness tracker offers 14 days of autonomy, therefore less than the Mi Band 4 and Mi Band 5 which instead offer 20 days of battery life on a single charge. In any case, the integrated 130 mAh battery takes almost 2 hours to fully charge, through the USB Type-A port (the ordinary one) which is exposed every time the strap is removed. For the uninitiated, this is the only smart band that does not require an external charger.
Finally, the Redmi Band supports a total of five sports modes: outdoor running, exercise, cycling, treadmill and brisk walking. In addition to these, you can keep track of steps, calories burned, continuous heart rate and sleep. There is also the 5ATM raincoat up to 50 meters under water and the possibility for users to control music remotely, as well as view notifications from apps directly on the wearable.
