Our favorite Chinese giant, Xiaomi, doesn't even seem to rest on Sunday. So here is the new smart vacuum cleaner robot, the Xiaomi Mijia Sweeping Robot 1C, which went on presale on the official website for the price of 1299 Yuan, or on the 165 euros. Among the main features we have the new navigation system, the electronic control of the water tank and a power of 2500Pa. Let's find out more!
Xiaomi Mijia Sweeping Robot 1C, the advanced and economical vacuum cleaner
Let's start with the functionality that makes this robot vacuum cleaner really smart: the navigation system. The new vacuum cleaner adopts one of the fastest navigation systems able to collect up to 30 thousand reference points per second. These data are then used to make the vacuum cleaner understand where to go, to create more precise and faster maps than ever before, as well as to avoid possible obstacles.
Moreover, thanks to the professional type OV vision sensor, a neural network algorithm is simulated that is able to calculate the path to do well 50 times per second. Put simply, this vacuum cleaner is one of the smartest on the market, so it can map the house faster and more efficiently than an older generation.
The visible navigation system is then assisted by two gyroscopes and an optical sensor with multiple positioning to obtain information on the position in a more accurate and complete way.
As for the brain, we find a CortexTM-A7 quad core processor equipped with a dual core video chip, the Mali400. While the algorithm that allows the vacuum cleaner to do everything mentioned above is called VSLAM and is an upgrade of the previous navigation algorithm called SLAM.
Speaking of the cleaning side instead, the Xiaomi Mijia Sweeping Robot 1C equips a brushless NIDEC motor produced in Japan, with a suction power of well 2500Pa, so more than enough to suck up dust or debris of any kind, even through cracks in the floor. We then have an electronically and smartly controlled 200ml tank so as to release the right amount of water during house cleaning.
Finally, on the device we find a total of 15 high precision sensors to prevent falls, collisions and avoid obstacles.
As we said earlier, the Xiaomi Mijia Sweeping Robot 1C is now on sale in China at the price of 1299 Yuan, around 165 euros at current exchange rates. The vacuum cleaner is therefore one of the cheapest available on the site of the Chinese giant although, as we have just seen, it does not seem to lack in features but bring new and interesting ones. As always we remember that these are prices for the Chinese market that will see price increases once they are sold by third-party stores.
