When it comes to virtual assistants, we cannot fail to mention Alexa, now become a travel companion in everyday life, through the integration in smartphones as well as in wearables, being able to query her about many things, such as weather, status of shipments, news and much more. Undoubtedly the voice interaction is at the maximum experience but someone still prefers to interact in a traditional way, that is through the use of written commands, a function that is currently not available on the Amazon assistant, instead present on the Google Assistant.
But things are changing, thinning even more the differences between the two smart assistants, as it seems that the global e-commerce giant Amazon is working precisely in integrating the possibility of interacting with Alexa by means of written commands.

Moreover, the function will be available on all Amazon smart speakers, even the older ones. At the moment the new function is already reaching some American users, specifying also that they belong to the iOS users, who will have the possibility to interact with Alexa through the keyboard of their smartphone.
Function therefore at the moment on an experimental basis, but it is certain that this represents the first step before a massive launch of an update that will bring everyone the possibility of interacting with Alexa using the keyboard directly instead of voice commands, a function that could be useful in certain conditions, in which we are unable to use the voice but we need to interact with the Amazon virtual assistant, perhaps asking to turn on the heating, in order to find your home warm for arriving home after a grueling office meeting.
As for the release of the new function on Alexa, the company has not yet given precise information but it could be the Christmas period to give users this new feature.
