In an increasingly connected world there is an increasing need for energy to charge devices. Therefore Xiaomi continues to enrich the range around its range of powerbanks. In fact, it was only a couple of weeks ago that the Chinese manufacturer of Mi PowerBank 2 from 10000mAh with dual USB for 79 yuan (about 10 euro).
Personally I think that the cut from 10000 mAh is the unions to be taken with, but apparently in the East think differently as the new powerbank arrived on the market has a capacity of 5000 mAh, ideal for everyday use. Xiaomi Mi PowerBank 2 5000 mAh, as the name suggests, is the smallest variant of the aforementioned model e it will just cost 49 yuan (about 6 euros). The conversion rate is 93% with an effective output power of 3300 mAh.
Also on the Xiaomi Mi PowerBank 2 5000 mAh we find a body made of CNC metal with thickness of 9,9 mm and weight of 156 grams (125 x 69 x 9,9 mm). Made with anodized aluminum processing, which offers a particularly elegant and premium design as well as resistant to dirt, bumps and scratches: up to 50 Kg of supporting weight. Moreover the edges are decidedly more blunt and therefore also ergonomics is improved. Present only a USB input to charge the devices and a micro USB input for charging the powerbank itself. We also find the 4 small LEDs indicating the state of charge of the product and the power button.
This powerbank also has one thermal protection, input / output overvoltage, anti-inversion, short circuit, overload thanks to the integrated chip provided by Texas Instruments. Furthermore, thanks to the low charge function, Xiaomi Mi PowerBank 2 5000 mAh can be used to charge small devices such as Bluetooth headsets and smartbands that are generally not identified by the powerbanks on the market. Just double-click the power button to activate the low charge mode.
It will take 3,5 hours to fully load the potential of the powerbank, using a charger from 5V / 2A, considering that it will then be able to load for example 2,2 times an 5S iPhone. Available from January 12, while they will spend at least two weeks before seeing it on the online stores that we are used to, but given the very minimal price difference compared to the 10000 mAh cut, I do not know how much success can be achieved.
