Over the past two months, several lists have followed one after the other smartphones of the brand that will receive the MIUI 12. Having become aware that none of these are official and considering the fact that the brand has not yet said anything, we see the app in question.
This new application was made available by poco on the Play Store and allows, via a tool that scans the device, to see if the same will be able to enjoy the latest (hopefully not) release of the Xiaomi skin. Once installed, it requires no permissions of any kind. That's enough proceed with the download (we leave you the link at the end of the article), access the app e press the big button to start the scan. After less than three seconds this will tell you if the device will be updated to MIUI 12. If the tool does not find your device, you can search for it manually by clicking on "click here".
Clearly, as anticipated in the introduction, it is not an official app and therefore i results could be completely false. Let's imagine that these are taken from one of the lists that have been running for weeks on the net. One of these, the last one in chronological order, is receiving a lot of attention. It is what we show you below.
In my case I tried with Xiaomi Mi 8 and the result, as you can see from the first image, is positive. I also tried a Redmi 5 Plus and in this case too, the result was positive. We see, however, that in this list, as in others, the Redmi 5 is by no means named. For this reason we invite you to take the results with due caution and wait for official news from the brand.
In this regard on Weibo in the last hours, news is circulating that Xiaomi will announce the MIUI 12 on April 27thprecisely in nine days. Also in this case it has not been confirmed and therefore we cannot say for sure if the news has foundation or not.
