A few days ago we reported of the possibility that the Black Shark brand, part of the Xiaomi ecosystem, could launch the new Black Shark 3S in the following weeks, so as to give the new ones a hard time ASUS ROG Phone 3 e Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone Pro just presented.
Black Shark 3S will not be available in the Pro version
Well, today the famous Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station has revealed that yes, the Black Shark 3S is coming, but it will also be the only device to see the sunlight and will not be accompanied by a "bigger screen version". By "bigger screen version" means the Pro variant that we saw launching together with the Black Shark 3 a few months ago.
Digital Chat Station then added that the choice of the brand not to release a Pro variant would be dictated by the fact that the Black Shark 3 Pro is a true flagship and therefore like all smartphones in this category will have to wait a year for the successor. In our opinion this seems like an excuse for not launching a new edition of a device that probably hasn't been very successful. Following this logic, Xiaomi should not present the much talked about Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, which as we already know will be an improved version of the flagship released at the beginning of the year.
In any case, the Black Shark 3S (not Pro) could be enough as an upgrade for most users, especially for those who still own a Black Shark 2 or 2 Pro. The new device should adopt the new and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus. Qualcomm's new CPU has exceeded 3Ghz clock frequency for the first time, the Snapdragon 865 Plus runs at 3,09Ghz. This leads to an increase in computational performance of about 10% compared to the predecessor, the same is true for the graphics sector.
In addition, the 3S should also see an increase in the display's refresh rate, from the 90 Hz of the Black Shark 3 to a good 144Hz, always of the AMOLED type.
