In January of this year, the former Huawei sub-brand launched the new Honor V40. The smartphone has been a huge success in China, selling out on all platforms. Wan Biao, president of Honor Terminal, even stated in a media interview: "We are ready to win the competition from the global high-end market."
Honor 50 coming in June with Snapdragon 888
Well, today a well-known Chinese blogger revealed that the new Honor 50 series will be released in June, the debut is tentatively scheduled in the first half of the year, although the specific date has not yet been determined.
The blogger said that the Honor 50 series is basically the first flagship product after independence from Huawei and will come with a new design, a new processor and a new operating system.
In this regard, some users have speculated that the new operating system on board the Honor 50 could be HarmonyOS. But at the moment it's hard to say for sure.
It is worth mentioning that this morning a new render of the Honor 50 (cover image) was exhibited in a color similar to “Sky Realm”. It adopts a matte back cover made of AG material and has a double periscope ring module with three cameras.
Finally, as far as performance is concerned, Honor executives have revealed that at the moment Honor and mainstream chip makers have entered into full cooperation and will use high-end chips. So the Honor 50 series will most likely be equipped with the Snapdragon 888 processor.
