La MIUI 12 seems to throw tantrums from day to day. The last bug we saw in chronological order was the one involving the transparency of the control center. Unfortunately, although the skin is complete, it is not without problems whatsoever. When you want to put too much meat on the fire, something goes wrong. Today we go to see a new bug affecting several users. This is the receipt of the system update notification, which, however it does not correspond to an actual update. let's see better what it is.
On MIUI 12 system updates appear in the updater but are not displayed once in the menu. Here's how to fix it
According to the reports on the different social networks (and we also found it on a Xiaomi Mi 8 updated to the latest MIUI 12 version available) we understood that this problem referring to system updates is rather widespread. What is it about? Basically the system update notifications are reported in the settings. However, once you tap the corresponding menu, no update is found. In the video below we see the matter better.
As we can see, in the version MIUI 12.0.4.0 (but also later as 12.2.6.0), notifications appear in red with the counter in the menu corresponding to system apps. Once you hit the menu though, no update appears.
Well, this is a bug that should be reported (we always recommend reporting them via the Feedback app!). We are not aware if the developers are hard at work to fix it, but if it is reported en masse, within poco time should come a fix.
How to fix the system app notifications bug on MIUI 12
Unfortunately there is no "official fix" but the only thing to do is to insist with the refresh of the menu.
