Honor surpasses Xiaomi in the largest smartphone market in the world

Honor, since Huawei split up, it has promised to bounce back like never before and apparently it is doing so. Two key markets for it: the western one, where it will debut shortly with the latest flagship, and the Chinese one where it has been present for years. Secondo Counterpoint Research, in August 2021, Honor managed to overtake Xiaomi in terms of smartphone sales in China and become the third largest brand in that market. In just one month, Honor's smartphone sales in China are increased by 18%, one of the best growth rates ever. Counterpoint's director of research Tarun Pathak said:

After separating from Huawei, Honor was able to re-establish ties with component suppliers [microchip]. From now on, using its strong R&D capabilities, the company has released new products and is on track for a rapid recovery in China. The Honor 50 series was an instant hit in the mid-range segment. Honor also aims at the premium segment with the Magic Series, expanding its portfolio in the price ranges. There is also pent-up demand from loyal consumers Huawei and Honor who have kept their devices and haven't switched to other brands. The strong relationships with distributors have also helped in the widespread promotion of the brand.
