As we have learned in this post, Qualcomm has just announced the new Snapdragon 888 Plus. The chipset will appear in smartphones of the second half of the year and among them we will find the next flagship Honor Magic 3 series.
Official: Honor Magic 3 coming with the new Snapdragon 888 Plus
This was just confirmed in Qualcomm's press release along with a statement from an Honor executive. Fang Fei, the president of the product line, said that "The revolutionary advances we see in the new Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G mobile platform make it a perfect fit for HONOR's upcoming high-end Magic3 series."
Prior to the release of the Snapdragon 888 Plus, it was reported that Honor would launch the Magic 3 in August and that it will be powered by Snapdragon 888 Pro, which is what we now know as Snapdragon 888 Plus was called.
Honor plans to announce two Magic series smartphones this year. It is reported that one will be a foldable device which is expected to arrive under the name of Honor Magic Fold.
Qualcomm's press release also eliminates rumors that the chipset will be Honor-exclusive as it confirms that other manufacturers will also announce devices powered by the chipset. ASUS smartphone general manager Bryan Chang has confirmed that the Snapdragon 888 Plus will arrive on the next ROG. Vivo and Xiaomi have also confirmed that they will announce smartphones powered by the new processor.
