Honor Magic 5 and Magic 5 Pro officially announced: specifications and prices

As scheduled, today Honor officially presented a new generation of flagships at MWC 2023, namely the Honor Magic 5 series. The Magic 5 series brings great improvements compared to the past in the field of photography, battery, connectivity and performance; let's go and discover it together.

Let's start with the design of the Magic 5 series which continues the classic design with a protruding circular module on the back with three cameras arranged in an equilateral triangle. At the same time, the front of the Honor Magic 5 series adopts a “soft” screen design with curved corners and edges.

As for colors, the Honor Magic 5 series offers a variety of choices. In total, the Magic 5 and Pro are available in five color options: Brown Blue, Tundra Green, Coral Purple, Burning Orange and Bright Black.

Moving on to photography, the standard version of the Honor Magic 5 comes with a 54-megapixel wide-angle main camera, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera (supporting a maximum magnification of 50X). . While the Pro version integrates a 50 megapixel main camera, a 50 megapixel ultra wide angle and a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto camera that supports a maximum zoom of 100X. Furthermore, the standard version of the Magic 5 is equipped with a color temperature and flicker sensor, while the Honor Magic 5 Pro is equipped with a multi-point laser focus sensor, together with a multispectral color temperature and flicker sensor .

In terms of software fine-tuning, the Honor Magic 5 series is equipped with a brand new "hawk-eye" camera, which can capture scenes faster, more accurately and more clearly, and can automatically capture beautiful moments in still image, even at night. To achieve this, a number of excellent processing algorithms have been added to improve portrait detail and background image quality, as well as integrated and then updated computational optics to achieve better image quality performance at more focal lengths. . The brand has also launched full-link high-speed E-HDR image technology, to take pictures that look more realistic.

The Honor Magic 5 series has also seen upgrades in the battery field. Notably, Honor Magic5 Pro is the first smartphone with a silicon-carbon anode battery technology, which increases the battery capacity to 5450mAh, and the battery life is directly improved to a higher level. You can watch up to 20,3 hours of video or 16,5 hours of browsing time, achieving the longest battery life of flagship mobile phones. This carbon and silicon technology allows the Honor Magic 5 Pro to have a larger and larger battery capacity with the same battery volume. The standard version of the Magic 5 is instead equipped with a battery with a capacity of 5100 mAh and even with this large capacity it is still the thinnest flagship with a thickness of less than 8 mm.

As for the screen, the Honor Magic5 Pro comes with a 6,81-inch OLED screen, which supports 1312×2824 resolution, DCI-P3 wide color gamut. The 1,07 billion color display also supports LTPO adaptive dynamic refresh rate from 1-120Hz and high frequency PWM Dimming up to 2160Hz. global maximum of 1300 nits and a peak brightness of 1800 nits.

Moving on to the Honor Magic 5, this model features a 6,73-inch OLED screen with 1224×2688 resolution, supports DCI-P3 color gamut, has 120Hz dynamic refresh rate and high-frequency PWM Dimming up to 2160Hz.

In terms of performance, the entire Honor Magic 5 series adopts Qualcomm's second generation Snapdragon 8 chips. Honor Magic 5 Pro is also equipped with the combination of high-performance storage (LPDDR5X and UFS4.0), which provides ultra-fast read and write speeds for games and various application operations. At the same time, Honor Magic5 series adopts superconducting hexagonal graphene material and VC liquid cooling system, which provides graphene thermal conductivity of up to 1500W/mK. This combined with a large VC heat dissipation area allows even the most demanding games to run without overheating. Finally, the smartphone is IP68 water and dust resistant.
