Honor, the well-known Chinese smartphone brand, is preparing the launch of its new flagship model, theHonor Magic 6. It is a device that promises to revolutionize the mobile photography sector, thanks to the adoption of a one-inch sensor produced by Omnivision, one of the leading optical component companies.
Honor Magic 6: the new flagship will have the best camera on the market
The sensor in question is the OV50K, which according to the Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station, will be the first to be used by Honor. This sensor, made with a new production process, would have superior performance to that of the Sony IMX989, currently the most powerful one-inch sensor on the market, used by some Xiaomi models.
The OV50K sensor will allow the Honor Magic 6 to capture high-quality images, with higher resolution, better noise management and greater dynamic range. Furthermore, the sensor will be able to support advanced artificial intelligence functions, such as facial recognition, autofocus and image stabilization.
In addition to the main sensor, the Honor Magic 6 will be equipped with other rear cameras, including one periscopic telephoto lens, one wide angle and one macro. The front camera, however, will be integrated into the AMOLED screen from 6,78 inches with a resolution of 1,5K and an aspect ratio of 19,9:9.
The Honor Magic 6 will not only be a product of excellence for photography, but also for other technical features. The processor will in fact be the same Snapdragon 8 Gen3, Qualcomm's latest and most powerful chipset, accompanied by 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. The operating system will be Android 14 with Magic UI 8 customization.
Another novelty that will distinguish the Honor Magic 6 will be the satellite communication technology, which will allow the phone to connect to the network even in the absence of a terrestrial signal. This is a useful feature for emergency situations or remote areas.
The Magic 6 is expected on the market before the Spring Festival, which in China falls on January 25, 2023. The price has not yet been announced, but it is assumed that it will be in line with that of the previous models in the Magic series, i.e. around 600 EUR.
