As you will surely already know if you own a Xiaomi Mi Band or one Xiaomi Mi Band 1S (Mi Band Pulse), you can unlock the smartphone with the Android Lollipop operating system or just by logging into its connection range. This is a useful feature especially if we have set an unlock password as it speeds up that process while maintaining security.
Perhaps, however, not everyone knows that you can customize the distance within which the Xiaomi Mi Band will authorize the release of the smartphone. The procedure is extremely simple and you use more to write it than to do it.
- Open the Mi Fit application and go to the general settings through the three dots at the top of the interface and its option;
- Tap on the Xiaomi Mi band on which you want to act;
- From the new screen, tap on the option that allows the smartphone to unlock through the wearable;
- Snap 10 times on the smartphone image;
- Select one of the three options available: close to the smartphone, within 1 meter or within 3 meters.
As you can see, this is a somewhat hidden option whose activation is, however, very simple. One important thing to point out is that the procedure outlined above works on any version of the Mi Fit app, whether it's downloaded from the Google Play Store or the Mi App Store.
