Among the gadgets that made my tech heart beat, I would never have thought of including a label printer, but the HPRT Qutie really intrigued me thanks to some tricks up its sleeve that you are unlikely to find in similar products. The sales package contains the essentials, naturally including the mini printer, a USB-C cable for charging the device, the instruction manual (in English) also containing the QR Code inside to download the app companion as well as a 4 meter ribbon of continuous labels in the 15 mm format and finally a sort of lace with eyelet to hang the gadget. The roll of labels is already inserted inside the printer, but for installation it will be necessary to remove a tab showing some product specifications and then remove the appropriate tab applied to the end of the ribbon. The white part must face upwards.

One of the strengths of the HPRT Qutie is its extreme portability, thanks to its compact size and weight, such that the printer fits comfortably even inside a trouser pocket or in the palm of a hand. Square shape with rounded corners, on the upper part it offers a lid that can be removed by levering upwards, which allows access to the label compartment.
On the lower side we find the Type-C input for charging the device and a sort of growth to insert the lanyard included in the package, so you can hang the printer. On the left side, however, we find a gray lever whose function is to cut the labels once printed, with a clean and precise cut. We also find the print exit slot, a small status LED and the on/off button.
The LED signals that the tape has been turned on and inserted correctly when the small light shines green: red, on the other hand, signals a problem relating to the installation. Another pearl of wisdom that this HPRT Qutie gives us lies in the label tape, which for "peeling" integrates a central cut on the side of the film, so that we don't have to struggle to remove the adhesive part. Printing occurs thermally, therefore without ink, with a definition of 203 DPI.
Simple but functional, our portable printer is available in different colors as well as the label tapes, whose only flaw is the cost: approximately €12,99 for a 4 meter roll in the colors white, blue, pink, purple, green and transparent. A small mention goes to the fact that our Qutie received the coveted REDDOT Design 2022 award.

All the features and potential of the product are expressed through the HerePrint application, available for Android and iOS. Pairing to the smartphone/tablet occurs via Bluetooth and in less than a minute you will find yourself ready to organize all sorts of things with labels.
We only have to pay attention to the type of labels we use, as the application asks us what type of tape is installed. In our tests we have continuous strip tapes but there are also tapes with divided labels on the market, i.e. with pre-established lengths (the maximum is 60 x 14 mm), and spaces between one and the other. The difference is that continuous ones allow you to print labels of customizable length, or print more than one in a row, but you will then have to cut them manually.
Having made this small clarification, the ease of use is undoubted, also counting on an excellent translation into Italian of the companion app. With the editor we can really create what we want, being able to apply stickers, images, customize the fonts of the text, but also create "drawings" or freehand strokes, such as for signatures, apply frames to the text. Furthermore, if we like a particular style, we can save it to resume later. We can also layout the text, changing the size, spacing and much more.
Once we have defined what we want to print, we just need to click on the appropriate print button and with a really high speed, our label will be created, ready to be used and stuck on notebooks, bottles and jars etc.. I forgot to say that through the In the app we can also create personalized barcodes or QR codes, for example to direct our friends to our YouTube channel or Linkedin profile.
The printing is quite high quality and the good thing is that the labels also resist washing in water, as could happen with glass jars or other, but they are also very resistant and well adhesive, such that they can be applied to many material surfaces different like glass, plastic, wood but also metal.
HPRT Qutie integrates a 2000 mAh battery which according to the manufacturer allows continuous printing for up to 50 hours. Honestly, I haven't done tests for that long but by doing some averages of my use, with the percentage of remaining charge visible via the app, I can confirm the values dictated by the brand. Maybe you already have an old label maker at home and are wondering why to buy this HPRT Qutie? Well first of all for the printing speed, for the possibility of editing the patterns. This mini printer is more portable, has a better print definition, integrates Bluetooth connectivity for use with multiple devices and above all anywhere, but above all the extreme customization of what we want to print allowing the creation not only of labels, but also of business cards. greetings, business cards etc..

The ease of use, the extreme portability, the wide autonomy but above all the good printing (in terms of definition) and the infinite possibilities made available by the application mean that a gadget that is apparently useless becomes an extraordinary tool for organizing your life, allowing you to put everything in order and catalogue.
