The second generation of the Xiaomi Mi Band was presented at the beginning of June this year and in just two months it managed to conquer a large number of users, especially as regards the addition of a display without penalizing in the overall autonomy of the device itself is relevant. Since there is a great demand for this device, Xiaomi has had to intensify the production of the latter, even if we are currently still very far from the quantity that is required.
However, as is often said, not all that glitters is gold. In fact, through a post on the Chinese social network Weibo, a user declared that the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 caused him burns on his wrist, attaching a lot of illustrative photos. The user also stated that this has happened to him more than once and after the second time he proceeded to contact the Xiaomi customer service who immediately examined this unpleasant situation. However, according to what was declared by the latter, after a careful analysis the device does not have any kind of problem and, consequently, these burns seem not to come from a malfunction of the Mi Band 2.
Examining the user-reported images, the burns appear to be in the form of the Mi Band 2 display and may have been caused by excessive friction between the device and the user's wrist, due to a tightening of the wrist bracelet too tight the real causes of this seem unrecognizable. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has not yet commented on this and this could ruin the reputation of the device as much as that of the company itself.
Surely there is a need to investigate much more about this problem, although there is not much to worry about, as it is very rare that this will happen (in fact this is the first ever case of pulse burns caused by a Mi Band) . Also, it is not even sure that the burns have been caused by a malfunction / overheating of the Mi Band 2, so we are not too hasty to judge this negatively.
