The Play Store will now allow you to uninstall apps without completely removing them

With the advancement of mobile technology, the applications available to the user are numerous and above all sometimes they take up considerable memory, but not all smartphones have expandable storage, without considering that the space available to the user is considerably reduced due to of the operating system and related updates and increasingly resolute photos and videos.

A solution to the problem could come directly from Google, which has been working on the problem for some time. In particular, the Mountain View company has been testing a function since March that would allow the applications installed on the smartphone to be archived, reducing their weight by 60%. The app storage feature will be available directly from the Play Store and developer @AssembleDebug shows us a preview of this new feature still under development.

From the Play Store you can now free up space without uninstalling apps

The images above clearly show how the storage function of the app installed on smartphones will be integrated into the Play Store, reachable from the section "Manage app and device" . From here we could uninstall the apps in bulk or through the appropriate option choose to archive one or more applications, reducing their weight by 60%, without however the app being totally uninstalled.

A function that simulates a little freezing, going to retrieve the archived app if necessary, without having to download again. In fact, the archived application will continue to be present in the launcher, replacing its icon in the "cloud" version. By clicking on it, it will be automatically restored and all the data of the app will be recovered so that you can use it as if you had never deleted it.

At the moment it is not known when this feature will officially arrive for all users, but rumors closer to mom Google suggest that it will probably be available later this year. And what do you think of this novelty? Will you use it or do you usually proceed with a clean installation?
