A couple of weeks ago we announced the birth of the new brand MiJia by Xiaomi under which to group all the products of the large ecosystem of companies of the company itself. This announcement by the Chinese company was also accompanied by the formalization of the first product characterized precisely by this new brand, namely theInduction Heating Pressure Rice Cocker (or IHR Rice Cocker), which in simple terms is equivalent to a pressure cooker but with smart functionality | Mi Ecosystem and the first MiJia brand product |. It was possible to buy it, along with other recently presented devices, in the Asian continent during the Mi Fan festival held a few days ago, in which Xiaomi recorded sales significantly higher than those of previous years | Record sales during the Mi Fan festival |.
However, now, we will not talk about the latter but about a new member of the MiJia family (Xiaomi Smart Home) from poco presented and more specifically the MiJia Smart Camera, the first Xiaomi smart camera at 360 °.
It has a body made entirely of SABIC plastic which gives it a very low weight and allows it to rotate the sensor easily. Its main features are the ability to record videos in HD is 1080p, support to correction of lens distortion (LDC) and a very large focal aperture (f / 1.8). The CPU specifications are completed Ambarella S2LM, HD OV sensor and support to magic zoom 4x.
Speaking of its main function, the photo sensor consists of 6 lenses, with focal aperture f / 1.8 that allows you to capture a lot of light in situations of total darkness, especially thanks to the function Smart HDR. You can see these qualities in the following photo on the left.
In addition, support to LDC allows to correct the annoying "fish eye" effect, providing perfectly framed and corresponding shooting to the reality, greatly improving the user experience. Below is a photo showing that feature (bottom).
Finally, it is possible to connect the MiJia Smart Camera to a smartphone via the app We Smart Home and be able to make video calls using all the potential of the latter or use it as a webcam. You can also use it as a voice server, being compatible with Siri, Cortana and the Xiaomi voice server (the latter only available in China or with ROM MIUI China).
The launch price of the MiJia Smart Camera is 399 Yuan, which corresponds to the exchange rate (without various taxes) a poco more than 54 €, while no official date has been released for availability. What do you think of this new Xiaomi gadget?
