Multilingual support for MIUI China is already a reality… yes but with Fake ROMs

Earlier this month we had ignited your interest in the release of MIUI 13, whose official presentation should take place in August during an event dedicated to the launch of new products such as Mi Pad 5 and Mi Mix 4 among other things, talking to you about the fact that MIUI 13 will have multilingual support also for the Chinese version, with the possibility of becoming the only variant in circulation, effectively eliminating the various gills such as Global, Russia, India etc ..

Apparently some good time has decided to take advantage of this novelty by placing Fake ROMs on the market, which could prove not only poco safe for your system but above all they would no longer allow you to proceed with the updates via OTA officially released by the MIUI development team.

Multilingual support for MIUI China is already a reality… yes but with Fake ROMs

As you can see from the images above, the Fake ROMs in question are however unsuccessful, as although they carry the wording CN within the reference nomenclature of the specific ROM for the smartphone, in reality they appear as ROM Global. But apart from what do we understand that ROMs are fakes?

Reporting part of our guide published here on the blog:

  1. going to settings ⇒ device information ⇒ MIUI version, you can find one of these "clues":
    • the version code ends with two zeros (eg xxx0.0);
    • it is reported that you have a Global but the code contains the China CN identifier (eg Global Stable with MAACNDI code for Mi5);
    • you have a xiaomi.eu ROM without having requested and unlocked the Bootloader (xiaomi.eu ROMs can only be installed after unlocking the bootloader and installing a Custom Recovery)
  2. you find a Global Stable ROM (prior to 8.1.0) containing Italian, but in reality your device has not yet received Italian on the Global Stable

Obviously, in case you find yourself a Fake or "fake" ROM, we always recommend replacing it with an official one so that you can receive OTA updates and have as few lag problems and bugs as possible.
