Two months ago, we told you about a small but important update that had featured the Mi Health app, or the possibility of measuring the pulse of our heart using the camera, as well as the flash of our smartphone. We told you about it , promising, but despite this, few have downloaded the app, also due to the fact that there are definitely many who rely on wearables that therefore allow you to do this and much more, even in a more accurate and reliable way.
But Lei Jun's company, born first of all as a software house, believes in its own creature and perhaps thanks to the eternal rivalry with Apple, has decided to raise the bar and release a new update, which allows Mi Health not only to record some sporting activities, but also to trace our path.

Of course, this possibility is offered by taking advantage of the integrated GPS of your smartphone, thus obtaining an accuracy almost close to perfection. Therefore, the sports that can be monitored by Mi Health will now be enriched with more precise values, such as the distance traveled and steps taken, which will inevitably also positively affect the goodness of the other data collected, such as calorie consumption per activity.
At the moment the sports that benefit from the new feature are running, walking, cycling and the indoor treadmill, of course there is no GPS track for the latter. Certainly a limited number of activities, but among the most common, able to satisfy precisely that target of users who may not like smart watches or other techno-devilry, to depend on, but still love to keep track of their sports activities.
At the moment the update is only available for the Chinese version of Mi Health, but the one for the global version of the app will soon arrive. So if you are interested you just have to wait.
