The Chinese smartphone landscape is so varied that, to be noticed, something really innovative has to be proposed. It's the case of Manta's startup that has revealed its first flagship: Manta 7X.The peculiarity of this device is not so much the technical sector, which now belongs to the "old generation" but the fact that it is characterized by the total absence of physical keys that are replaced by touch panels on the side edges.
Needless to say, the device can only be used by gesture that will be run by a proprietary rom based on Android KitKat, the M07 OS. Available in Chinese and English only, this OS includes some preloaded applications and uses touch boards to facilitate common actions such as sending files or browsing menus.
Before talking about the perhaps the only, painful note of the Manta 7X here is its technical features:
• 5.5 Full HD Display with Full HD Resolution;
• Soc Snapdragon 801 with 2.5 GHz;
• 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of non-expandable internal memory;
• Both front and rear cameras with Sony XMMX 214 13 megapixel sensor with f / 2.0 and OIS aperture;
• WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with Glonass;
• Battery from 4200 mAh;
• IP55 certification (waterproof);
• Side touch panel with built-in fingerprint reader;
• Android 4.4.4 KitKat Operating System with M07 OS Customization.
As reported on Manta's official website, we see that this device is compatible with 3G and 4G Europe networks, even if the various supported bands are not specified. Compatibility with our networks allows the most interested to think about purchasing this device, and here's the sore note, is distributed only through the official site at the price of 4080 Yuan, about 580 Euro. Perhaps a bit too many counting the fact that Manta is a young company and we do not know the quality and consistency of its support.
Would you be willing to spend such a figure on this smartphone?
