MediaTek today announced two new processors in Taiwan. The chipsets Dimensity 920 e Dimensity 810 they are both 6nm octa-core processors with better performance and efficiency than their predecessors. Dr. JC Hsu, Corporate VP and GM of MediaTek's Wireless Communications Business Unit, said the new chipsets are designed to "provide device manufacturers and smartphone users with the latest innovations at more affordable prices for the mainstream market". MediaTek Dimensity 920 and MediaTek Dimensity 810 are official: the brand's new quasi-gaming processors have arrived. Who will use them?
Il Dimensity 920 is a 6nm chip with four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. The GPU is the Mali-G68 which MediaTek claims has all the technologies of the larger G78 but is optimized for energy efficiency, thus further extending battery life for gamers. According to Press release, the Dimensity 920 offers gaming performance up to 9% faster than the Dimensity 900.
The chipset can be paired with LPDDR5 and LPDDR4X memory and UFS 3.1 and UFS 2.2 storage. The Dimenity 900 also has support Smart Adaptive Display which allows it to automatically adjust the refresh rate based on the game or UI action detected. The spec sheet also mentions that it has a hardware engine of 4K video capture and can support up to four simultaneous cameras and sensors up to 108 megapixel.
For connectivity, the MediaTek Dimensity 920 features Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and 5G Call and Data Concurrency 3.0 which allows you to play 5G on SIM 1 while receiving a call on SIM 2.

Il Dimensity 810 at 6 nm is below Dimensity 820 at 7 nm. It also has 8 cores consisting of four Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. MediaTek claims to bring a 20% performance increase over the previous generation. The GPU is the Mali-G57 MC2.
The chipset supports FHD + a displays 120 Hz, LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 memory (2 lanes) and cameras up to 64 megapixels. The chipset also has high-end AI camera features such as AI-Bokeh e AI-Color in collaboration with Arcsoft. There is only Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 and the maximum download speed is 2.77 Gbps for the modem. The Dimensity 810 will soon appear in a smartphone realme o Oppo very soon.
