Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has just sent an official statement to several news agencies to announce the launch of a new sub-brand under the name of Lipro. This will focus on smart home products. An invitation was also sent with the statement for the conference which will take place on January 5, 2021.
Meizu presents “Lipro”, the sub-brand dedicated to smart products for the home
According to Chinese media reports, the invitation letter contained an acrylic board and a paper invitation card. The brand name "Lipro" has been hollowed out on the plastic tablet. Also on the back of the letter reads "Inspired by J. Wong", the founder of the Chinese tech giant.
So, with this invitation, Meizu is finally preparing to enter the smart home sector, launching new products and services within this market.
The new Lipro brand will in fact focus on interconnected IoT products, therefore very similar to Mijia from Xiaomi. In any case, the name Lipro is a combination of the words "life" and "pro". This means that the company's products are intended to "improve life" in a professional manner.
Unfortunately at the moment we don't have any other information on the new products coming, but in a couple of weeks we will know more.
