While we are waiting for the presentation of the Xiaomi Mi 10 series which should take place in the first half in the next month, a new patent appeared online shows us a device with a somewhat interesting design.

As we can see in the different images, the device presented by Xiaomi on the official Chinese patent site, CNIPA, adopts a design very similar to that of another terminal presented last year. We are obviously talking about the Huawei Mate X, a smartphone announced in early 2019 and went on sale a few months due to production difficulties.

The smartphone patented by Xiaomi has in fact a large display that can be folded up to make it much more compact and easy to carry. Unlike the Huawei tablet, however, that of Xiaomi seems to incorporate the photographic sector within the display. In particular we have a module with two cameras in the portion of the screen in the upper left. The cameras also seem to protrude from the screen, so we will have a decidedly different look from the usual and in some ways innovative.
This design of the photographic sector would also allow you to take high quality photos both when it comes to normal photos and selfies. We could in fact take a selfie with the screen open and a photo of something else with the screen closed. Always from the patent we are then able to take a look at the interface, which in a certain sense reminds us of the interface Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha, the concept phone of the Chinese brand with 360 degree surround screen.
What can we say, Xiaomi makes us dream with these futuristic designs, but as we have seen with both Samsung and Huawei, the foldable technology is not yet very mature. That Xiaomi is able to add the missing piece and produce a functional as well as beautiful device? We obviously hope so.
