We had believed it and we had hoped for it but unfortunately the leaks have touched (at least for the moment). We are talking of course about release of the Xiaomi Mi TV Stick, gadget that should have been presented today in India, and instead the company has proposed a new set top box with Android TV, or rather the Xiaomi Mi Box 4K, which as the name suggests is able to support playback of multimedia content in 4K HDR resolution, but there are also other features that make this new Mi Box 4K interesting.
In terms of design, we do not find any particular differences compared to the previous generations that we already know, taking up the minimalist, sober and elegant lines, resulting almost invisible once positioned under the TV. Merit is also of the small size equal to 95,25 x 95, 25 x 16,7 mm, or a small square with rounded corners.

Among the features that we find under the frame we have the presence of a quad core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz which is flanked by a Mali 450 GPU, 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAMP memory and 8 GB of internal storage in eMMC format, memories with technology not really fast but more than suitable for this type of product, thus keeping the selling price low. At the operating system level, the Mi Box 4K uses Android TV 9.0 Pie while the small remote control also integrates a quick key to call up Google Assistant, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

Therefore no compatibility problem with the European market, as the PatchWall system is abandoned in favor of a pure Android solution, in fact we also find the Chromecast function integrated, as well as the possibility of accessing the catalog of games and applications present within the Google Play Store. Finally, there is no lack of connectivity in the presence of 802.11 ac Wi-Fi module (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, an HDMI 2.0a port, a USB 2.0 port, 3,5 mm audio jack and support for video codecs. VP9, H.265, H.264, MPEG 1/2/4, VC-1 and Real 8/9/10, while the audio sector is entrusted to support for Dolby Audio 5.1 and DTS 2.0.
Sales of Xiaomi Mi Box 4K will take place on May 11th via the Flipkart platform, Mi Home, Mi Studio and mi.com at the price of 3499 Indian rupees which translate into 42 euros at the current exchange rate.
