One of the many features increasingly sought after by users who are approaching the purchase of a new smartphone is wireless charging, which allows you to recharge your batteries without having the clutter of wires. Yet there are still few Xiaomi brand devices that boast this specification, despite direct competitors such as OnePlus, at first hesitant about this new technology, has allowed itself to be convinced by integrating it on its latest top of the range.
Apparently the spin-off company of Lei Jun's company, aka Redmi, has hinted that for the moment and therefore also for the immediate future, none of its devices will welcome wireless charging as a feature. The communication comes directly from Redmi CEO, who replying to one of his followers on the Chinese social network Weibo, proclaimed that no wireless charging will be added, so we can be sure that the expected Redmi K40 and related variants as well as the expected POCO F2 aka POCO X3 Pro, they could follow the same strategy.
No wireless charging on top of the range Redmi terminals: too expensive
In fact, the latest launches of the Asian brand's devices do not boast wireless charging, despite often talking about top of the range. But what is the reason? It is not an official answer, but it could be the high cost of these components, in fact if we look at 2020, to buy a Xiaomi Mi 10 equipped with wireless charging, the initial price list was around 800 euros.
Yes, an answer that could initially satiate the thirst for knowledge, but which in reality does not reflect reality, since on the market it is possible to find low-cost smartphones that boast this technology. Perhaps the problem could lie in the difficulty in optimizing the management processes of charging the combination with the software? Unfortunately, it is not known, but undoubtedly this strategy by the Chinese company does not bring advantages and risks losing the attraction towards the brand's smartphones, which have long since lost the philosophy of innovation that has always distinguished the brand from competitors.
