How are the cameras of the OnePlus 10 Pro doing? DxOMark has evaluated them decreeing that they are not the best. But it gets even worse honestly
The flagship smartphone OnePlus 10 Pro has risen on the test bench of DxOMark. During testing of its main camera, experts identified its strengths and weaknesses and also compared the shooting capabilities with other popular devices. The main camera module of the smartphone is equipped with a Sony IMX789 sensor from 48 megapixel (1 / 1.43 ″, 23mm EGF, f / 1.8, OIS). It is complemented by an ultra wide angle module from 50 megapixel (1 / 2,76 ″, 150 ° field of view), as well as a 8 megapixel with telephoto lens. The smartphone is capable of recording 8K video at 24fps, 4K at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps.
During the photo shooting quality tests, the DxOMark experts highlighted the strengths of OnePlus 10 Pro, as a good exposure and a wide dynamic range in bright light and indoors. Photos taken in these conditions also boasted good detail and low digital noise levels. Experts also noted the precise object isolation when shooting with the background blur effect.
During night shooting, the device stood out for the good detail and contrast of the photos, although there was underexposure of the shadow areas of the frame. Additionally, there was a tonal shift towards pinks in low light, as well as color and brightness issues when using the flash.
During the wide-angle camera test, the white balance remained generally neutral, but in some cases the green tones were inaccurate. Compared to the OnePlus 9 Pro, the new smartphone showed similar dynamic range parameters, but lost finer details and generated digital noise noticeable in some scenarios. When recording video (4K at 30 fps), the OnePlus 10 Pro demonstrated good texture reproduction, one fast and accurate autofocusas well as effective image stabilization.
There were also some drawbacks: when shooting on the go, the shift of the frame was clearly noticeable, and in low light conditions the camera white balance fluctuated. According to the test results, the smartphone scored 127 points, ranking in the 27° place in the global ranking of DxOMark camera phones. The device overtook the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 +, but lost one point against the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro.
